From Our Passengers

From the very first time I tuned into Taxi Radio, I fell in Love! Literally!
Into a place of Love and Light !!

I was in the UK at the time… far, far away from home and not in the best of spaces. After listening to the Taxi that first morning, I was hooked. What a pleasure it was to hear those familiar accents from home and the Love and Laughter that came across the oceans through my laptop, put a sense of joy in my heart that I had not felt for the longest time.

Soli Philander and his wonderful Crew kept me going through my darkest hours. Everyday on-board the Taxi has been a journey of discovery, togetherness, love, sharing, caring and unconditional friendship.

I had to travel many miles to come to the realization that Cape Town is the most amazing city on earth! The Taxi would remind me of that every morning, and as the months dragged by, I just could not wait to get home and see my city through new eyes.

I would become really homesick just listening to how beautiful the mountain was and how blue the sky was! In between the weather reports from the Mother City and Thoughts for the Day, the insightful interviews with folk from all walks of life, the great music and people skyping and phoning in from all over the world… in between all of this…. is a true community feeling, the rainbow “family” my heart had been yearning for… and I found it on The Taxi.

And truly a Family we are! We all have this sense of belonging. The Taxi has taught me so much, put me in touch with the most amazing people, made my friendship circle bigger and given me endless hours of listening pleasure ! Everybody is made to feel welcome on-board, everybody gets a mention and everybody counts!
Full speed ahead Taxi Radio! I am truly blessed to be in the company of the Crew and the Passengers who make this station a living, breathing entity!

Ever since I discovered that there was a radio station called The Taxi Radio it has been my first choice when wanting some company while I go about my daily chores etc.

I am always keen to share info with people when I hear certain discussions happening or about to happen at the Taxi.  Unfortunately many of my friends have not realised how to tune in as yet but I am happy to report that more are discovering daily.

I sincerely hope that more people will be able to tune into The Taxi Radio in the months to come as it becomes known throughout SA and the world.

At ‘The Taxi’ one can hear the sound of Cape town in such a very real way.  It’s a wonderful way for those interested in coming to tour around the Peninsula to feel the pulse of our city.  Also to whet the appetites for those who never considered doing so, to make a plan to get here asap.  ;-)

Anyone can get a really good idea of what transpires in our dear city, Cape Town and in addition the oldest suburb in the Cape, Woodstock. Things are sure happening.

I love hearing about what new shows, places to visit & experience which are right on our doorstep.  I may have missed out if not hearing from The Taxi about places to dine, enjoy etc. and what is available right now in the heart of our city and surrounds.  Always great to hear what our people are doing to make positive changes in our city.

The Taxi Radio has the feeling of one belonging to a good, happy, loving family.  Some friendships have blossomed from being a listener at The Taxi Radio station which I have never experienced before when being a listener and interacting with the DJs and programme presenters at other radio stations.  The Taxi Radio also uses the other methods of communication to keep a good, friendly and welcoming way to stay in touch.  The use of Facebook and twitter which allows their listeners and presenters an additional method of communication with all.   Not only during shows, but also enables their listeners a way of staying in touch with each other behind the scenes.  This makes it a more personal connection and not purely a channel to tune into and just listen.

I am looking forward to meeting one of their UK correspondents really soon when visiting there this year.  It seems that the really friendly manner in which they all conduct themselves is infectious and it allows one to feel really welcome always.

I always enjoy their really lovely selection of music to be heard daily to satisfy anyone’s appetite but NOT enough to have you not tuning in for more the following day for any particular section of the show.  The Taxi always has a really great energising and rocking sound to make one want to just drop whatever you are doing and begin dancing with joy!  They offer a good spread of talk radio interspersed with enough music.  Often I find it difficult NOT to make a comment or to simply thank the particular DJ whoever that may be at any one time.  I love the variety of the various music genres as there is always something for everyone of that we can be certain.  The DJs also have some additional information which is informative and allows one to be hungry to learn more and more each day.

On the whole I am always intrigued to hear what each fresh day had to offer when tuning into The Taxi Radio.  There is always sure to be a good mood set for each day by the presenters and listeners no matter how sad, bad or shocking the news there might be being reported on any particular day.

For me the taxi couldn’t have come at a better time, or maybe at the worst time in order to be the best motivation for me. I am at a crossroads in my life, feeling a need for change. And standing at that crossroads erm-ing and ah-ing, the taxi just pulled up, opened up and took me on board.

This ride inspires me daily to be my best self. To get involved, to stop making excuses and get on with it. And most of all that love isn’t a secret thing to be kept hidden like I once thought the world expected of me(when I felt I didn’t fit in)…but to open up my heart and love without hesitation. These folks are soooo different and yet so the same.I am not just a listener here. I am a part of the taxi. And the taxi is part of me. Its not an object, its not a theory. Its a community of beings with a common heart and 2000 plus souls. Get on the taxi and change your life.

Since the time when Soli worked for another radio station,I was a ardent listener to his one of a kind and ever cheerful attitude.

When he was cut from this lunch time slot,we were very upset and told him that we would follow him where ever he went, as he shone as a beautiful human being who then only had a facebook page to connect with us.  We urged him to make his own show,(which by now we knew it was his dream) and so when our Taxi came into being,it was a turning point that would define the way forward for many of his fans!!!

In this forum we experience a one of a kind joyride!!!where we can participate with the crew every day and know that our views are respected.

We have forged friendships from every corner and its so great to recognize the one or other that has something in common with yourself.

The main thing about this taxi is compassion love respect and possitivness to each passenger that rides.
It has put a sparkle to my day and its the one thing that has me working with a permanent smile on my face!!

Then at the launch of this Taxi, was so wonderful to meet wonderful people who since the beginning had shared our laughs and tears,to meet in person the one who had become so familar!!

Ah!!!so this is why we love our taxi with its fabulous crew who keep abreast with current topics, and never fail to deliver!!!!! An awesome crew!!!!!
